EPK!
For the past year, Ignotis has been taking over the scene of music in their hometown Bath. Being based in a small town makes securing gigs hard especially as the main grass root venues being shut down like Moles. The music that inspired us the most is the music that people shrug off because people can hear a song and relate it to other songs they prefer and not listen to it again. Although music that shaped what we play today is some of the best music ever produced, we feel that those same genres need to be expanded more with new ideas and new minds to implement different styles. What inspires us to create the music we have and will carry on doing is the pure therapy letting your feelings out into music can grant you, some of our best songs comes from very hard times of all members, and with the reaction of said songs when we perform them live is a feeling unlike anything else. When we finally had enough to record and release our first EP we wanted to wait till we felt the songs we had, reached their final stage as we were all changing as musicians and trying new things out along with keeping within our own genre. What Motivates us as a band is the fact that we have always been disregarded as a classic Indie rock band that hasn’t got much difference to the other 1000 bands in the UK. And with that we have always pushed to be the best we can 100% of the time. On our first Ep “Acai 4 Sore Eyes”, there’s a general theme of anger and sadness as the time of making the four songs there was a lot going on in the singers (Beaus) life. This was represented into the lyrics and the music with a lot thicker mix and very raw guitars and drums.
